In the examples below they are explained in more detail. Save Image allows saving the enhanced image in several formats. For lunar landscape images I recommend using the 'Set Alignpoints' tab, then using the slider to reduce the amount of points or manually enter the amount, Registax seems to want to place too many points for my taste. First click the 'select' tab at the top upper left and choose an AVI file you are ready to process. Realign with processed allows you to use the result of stacking and moderate waveletenhancing as a reference-image to align the frames again. This image shows the default functionality at the wavelets-page. Wavelets Examples with a more detailed description:

Reset Wavelets This button will reset the wavelets filters and sliders to the default values. Then check the 'align by centre of gravity' box and click the red circle. Next click the 'Stack' tab at upper left.
When Linked Wavelet Layer is used the stacked image is divided over the sucessive layers based on the denoise and sharpen filters and the setting of the slider. Next, move your cursor over the 'red circle' and click it. The process -button can be used to force recalculation of the image. You can always first load your old R5 scheme and save it again when you have set additional new settings.
Registax Version 6 Quickstart Tutorial
So in this example, I went over to the bottom left to 'Limit Setup' and clicked the 'Best Wavleet circle. When you scnemes finished making adjustments, click the 'Do all' tab at upper left, then save your image. With the image open one needs to set some of the parameters before aligning the frames.
That set the point for the center of gravity alignment. When Registax finishes the stacking process, click the 'Wavelet' tab at upper left which will open the wavelet page.
Finalising the processing of planetary images with Registax 6
wavflet You can save your wavelet 'schemes' for recall another time. For the purposes of this tutorial I will be using Jupiter as the subject. If you saved these in R5 be aware that the new features are not part of the saved files.
I also recommend giving this link a read as you can trap some of the noise that is created from sharpening, by using settings in the 'denoise' box. First click the 'select' tab at the top upper left and choose an AVI file you are ready to process. I have 14 different levels of wavelets saved, and usually one of those will do the job nicely. When the processing area is choosen rather small this is often not a problem.

Use Linked Wavelet Layers This is a complete new way to use wavelets. Show Full Image will show the image completely on screen, some tools we have will awvelet work properly when this checkbox is ON.
After stacking you might see areas where for instance "seams" are visible, when you then activate " Show Alignment points " you can decide to disable an alignpoint that might cause the seam. Normally the stacked image is "divided" over the wavelet-layers based on the gaussian sharpen filter. For planetary, if I have some decent 'seeing' and the data is good, I can get good results using only best frames.
The next thing one needs to do before clicking the 'Align' tab, is determine the method on how you would like the frames limited to gain the best result.
Stack again disabled when entering wavelets page is a new function. This image shows the default functionality at the wavelets-page. Here is where you bring out the detail in your image by using the wavelet sliders. For Saturn, one can use this, or the multi-point alignment.

This creates a complete different way to sharpen the images. This is again mainly usefull for images that are larger than the user set "processing area".
This means Registax will only save the best frames for the stacking process. For lunar landscape images I recommend using the 'Set Alignpoints' tab, then using the slider to reduce the amount of points or manually enter the amount, Registax seems to want to place too many points for my taste. Wavelte click 'Save Scheme' and give it a title. For Lunar landscape images, multi-point alignment is the only way to go.
